Here is how I connected to Mumbai Central Google’s free WiFi (With Images)
In January 2015, RailTel in partnership with Google launched first free high-speed public Wi-Fi service in Mumbai’s Mumbai Central station. Google CEO Sundar Pichai had announced that Mumbai Central will be the first station to get Wi-Fi under the scheme during his India visit in December 2015.
During my visit at Mumbai Central station, i decided to check this WI-FI service.
Step 1: Turn on the Wifi on mobile and click on scan. You will see “RailWire Wifi” network, click it and you will be directly connected.
Step 2: Once you connected to “RailWire Wifi” network, it will automatically open a sign-in page. You will be asked to enter your mobile number to get OTP password through SMS.
Once you confirmed the OTP password, ….. you’re online. 🙂 
Out of curiosity, i opened the SpeedTest app to test the Internet speed. I was amazed to see 6.14Mbps download and 3.98Mbps upload speed. I quickly opened YouTube app and started playing HD videos which work smoothly without any lag. Thank you RailWire, Thank you Google – Welcome to Digital India. 🙂

Who is providing the Wi-Fi?

No, RailWire Wi-Fi is free for users. Wi-Fi does not use your mobile data pack.
How long can I use Wi-Fi for?
You can enjoy unlimited Wi-Fi at this train station. You will get high speed Wi-Fi for the first hour, and then you might notice your connection speed slow down. Don’t worry, this is normal, so we can allow more users to join the network. It should still be a fast enough connection to keep monitoring train schedules, and using your favorite messaging and social media apps.
Why is Wi-Fi being provided at stations?
